Do you use mostly the liquify tool and just drop shadow in another layer?

I use a large amount of layers and mostly use various smudge brushes, grain/noise filters, and a good amount of digital painting with various brushes set to w/e will achieve the color/look i need at the time. I use GIMP as my photoshop because its free, idk that it has a liquify feature
