Elizabeth didn't normally buy off brands, but she wasn't about to drive to another store to satisfy a late night craving. Flakey Fruits looked close enough to fruity pebbles, the box even had a cartoonish dinosaur that reminded her of the Flintstones. The cereal even came with a prize apparently, written in bold letters toward the bottom of the box it said:

"Free the Dinosaur Inside!"

Next to the writing was a silhouette of a person and a dinosaur that was about the person's height. She sincerely doubted there was a life-sized dinosaur hiding inside the box, and a quick unpackaging revealed a bag of Flaky Fruits with no toy inside. For some reason, she was legitimately disappointed by this. With a sigh, she poured the colorful cereal into a blue plastic bowl and then grabbed for the milk.

She idly watched television while she ate her food, not really bothering to look down at the bowl as she skimmed through the graveyard shifts offering for entertainment. The bowl felt cool in her lap, and despite the temperature in the room having been fine earlier, she now had a strange chill run through her. Elizabeth ran her hand through her blond curls as she brushed them out of her face and grabbed a nearby throw blanket to get warm. The metal of her nose ring felt cool against her lip, the lip piercing felt oddly cold too. Elizabeth shivered as she took another spoonful of cereal, but as the spoon entered her mouth she noticed something off.

The spoon had struck one of her teeth as it entered her mouth, and as a reflex, she ran her tongue over it only to find that it was larger and more pointed than seemed right. Elizabeth scrunched her face in confusion and this time she reached with her hand to feel her tooth. Once again she felt a large and fang-like tooth that was far too big.

Elizabeth felt equal parts confused and cold at this point, and she grabbed the bowl, drinking down the last of the milk and Flakey Fruits. She walked toward the bathroom, dropping off her bowl by the sink with the intent to go inspect her teeth when she felt a strange sensation. The chill grew stronger and she felt goosebumps rise on her skin, or at least that's what she thought she felt. In reality, small scales had begun to form on many parts of her body.

Once more Elizabeth frowned as the uncanny feeling that something was off continued. As she frowned her brow hardened, small bony shapes forming a ridge where her eyebrows normally had been. She looked down the bridge of her nose as her pupils turned to slits, and she saw the end of her nose widen. Her nose was growing before her very eyes, and for a moment it grew rather uncomfortable, pinched by the nosering. The ring eventually bent against the pressure of her growing nose, and Elizabeth found herself rubbing the slightly sore and scale covered snout in confusion.

Elizabeth rushed to the bathroom now, and after a few seconds came scrambling back out. What she had seen had shocked her. Her face had been oddly reptilian, and she had... she had scales that were on her shoulders and arms. She even found a small bump of flesh at the base of her spine, that she was beginning to suspect of being the start of a tail. The very thought that she might have a tail was absurd, like as if she was suddenly turning into some sort of lizard or a...

The word felt as heavy as a boulder as it exited her mouth of its own accord.

"Dinosaur..."

Elizabeth grabbed the cereal box as she rushed over to the counter, rereading the prize advert. Suddenly the silhouette looked more like a before and after to her than a size comparison, and a realization came to her. The Dinosaur had never been in the box... it was inside her. Elizabeth slapped herself across the face with a clawed hand, but the sharp sting promised that this was no dream. Whatever they had put in the colorful cereal had partially turned her into some sort of hybrid between a human and a dinosaur. She had fangs, scales, a tail, claws on her hands... She really was part-reptile.

She knew the confirmation of her less than human status should have come as a frightening shock, but in reality, she felt... excited? Her tail was easily a foot and a half long now, and she could feel it sway as she walked. Her clawed toes had torn through her socks and clacked loudly as she walked across the hard kitchen floor toward the living room. She had a toothy grin as she carefully sat down, trying to avoid squishing her scale-covered tail. Without a thought she curled it around and on top her thigh, running her hand over it as she began to skim through the channels again.
