Really crisp for 1/10 of a second. Great work. What do you normally use for noise removal? (I'm pretty happy with Imagenomic's Noiseware, but always looking for better).

This is really interesting, looks kinda artificial - guess the exposure has played tricks on the image.
Great shot and well done 1/10th sec - get you eh? LoL

Thanks. The artificial look might be from all the dodging and burning I did do this in PS.

very cool looking shot favretto. I love the shadows, and I think the quality turn out pretty darn good considering your circumstances. Good work my friend.

Thank you. You should think about getting one, they're pretty much a necessity if you want to do any shooting indoors or when it's not sunny out.

Thank you. I tend to notice camera shake in my hand-held shots at anything below 1/30 of a second, and so I normally don't even try to do anything less than that without a tripod. It was still fairly hot out too, so I wouldn't have been shaking.

Good work

Thank you! I almost didn't even bother taking the shot, so I was quite surprised that I was able to get it to turn out okay.

Don't you love it when things work out this well? Do you get any hassles for photographing along the border? Our crossings have infra-red and video feeds, and neither Border Patrol likes it when one drives too slowly down the road along the border nor if you stop too often, and if you're stopped in one place for "too long" you can rest assured that a Border Patrol vehicle will come passing by before long.

I've never been hassled for shooting near the border. Whitefish Island lies directly beneath the International Bridge, and it's pretty much one big public park with boardwalks and paths all over it. People go there to run/bike/fish/take pictures all the time. Plus, it's not like anyone is going to be able to climb up the pillars, walk across the bridge, and then just keep walking right past customs. I imagine the bridges themselves are well monitored, and it's not possible to cross by land or swim across the river.

It could be because our border consists of a double ditch, no fences, and either roads on both sides of the border, or on one side with big fields on the other, where there isn't heavy tree growth. There are a couple of habitat areas on the Canadian side, but they're both closed for the season because the paths through the marsh aren't safe.

Ya, it seems as though a couple ditches might not provide much of a barrier. I can see why they would patrol it so heavily.

Yes, there was a tunnel from Mexico discovered around the same time, I think. Here's the story on the tunnel here:
