If you can, I recommend pursuing transition. As fun as these comics are, you're probably not going to become a girl if you don't put the effort in in the real world. Holding out for genie wishes or jealous ex-girlfriend witches is a great way to make your life miserable.

Transitioning can be really dangerous, though. I think it's best to just imagine or enjoying comics like this.

Only if you're self-medicating. Follow a good doctor's instructions, and you'll be fine.
As far as 'It's best to just imagine' goes...it depends on the person. Someone with a flight of fancy, or a desire to transition brought about through something OTHER than Dysphoria(such as 'having a fantasy/fetish of being turned into a hot chick' probably shouldn't. If Dysphoria is caused by having the wrong brain in the wrong body(which studies suggest), transitioning when you don't need to will likely CAUSE Dysphoria, making the person miserable.
But no. Assuming you're not just gobbling up estrogen willy-nilly, there IS a slight risk for liver issues, which can be mitigated by using patches instead of pills.
It's certainly not as dangerous as leaving a Dysphoria-stricken person to suffer. THAT often leads to suicide.

Just based on what I've learned, the best thing to do would probably be to consult a licensed psychologist as well as a qualified doctor to determine if person will be able to handle transitioning as well as whether or not they are suffering from Dysphoria. If that is the case, transitioning may still not be the best option. If it's all a matter of chemistry, I feel it may be best to see if less extreme measures can be taken. It's a very sensitive matter, and I worry people may be acting out of haste.

This much is true. There ARE people who rush into things, and get themselves screwed over in the long run, and everyone seeking to transition SHOULD see a therapist first. (Personally, I also believe those who seek transition should be a consenting adult at at LEAST 16-18, maybe a bit later.)
But it's also very possible(and I've seen people do this before - I'VE done this before) to get yourself lost in the fantasy of being magically and nigh-instantly transformed into the perfect specimen of femininity, and just...not putting in the effort or the emotional struggles that come with actually transitioning.
Now to be fair, I'm assuming a lot. TigerImpactDesigns appears to be trans, by the statement but...
I always get...frustrated when I see someone earnestly wishing that this could happen to them...and I get that....but...
Turning into a woman is a very real thing that can happen in the real world. You don't have to WISH for it, you can go out and DO it! In fact, waiting on a magical genie or surprisingly vengeful ex-girlfriend is only going to make it harder.
Now real transition is marred by the real world being flawed, sure (real women are not ALL bombshells, and have to deal with body fat, insecurities, odors, and all the other nasty little bits that make up being meatsacks in meatspace, and I worry that the fear of NOT having a perfect female life forever leaves a lot of transfolk stuck in perpetual longing...
Maybe I'm projecting a bit...but there are already more than enough comments on the internet going "Oh I wish this would happen to me," and far too few saying "It can. You just gotta work for it."
I...want that voice to exist.

I know what you mean. I guess my reason for suggesting someone just imagine is because I fear something going wrong. I've heard a lot of bad stories, so that's immediately what I go to. As for imagining, I've been there too. I've often felt like I've missed out on something, or that I wasn't born in the right body. There's always that distant longing, and sometimes, it's closer than I'd like it to be, and I get down about it. Every so often, I imagine myself just waking up and looking like Major from Ghost in the Shell, or just starting life over from the age of thirteen and going from there. It's a struggle, and my religion isn't exactly cool with gender reassignment therapy and surgery.

That's why we have therapists. That's why we need some sort of gatekeepers - not to deny transpeople treatment when they need it, but to make sure they're making an adult decision after considering all possible avenues. To make sure they're doing what's right for them.
But not finding out, not at least taking that step for any reason beyond "I cannot afford this", when you're struggling with those sorts of feelings? It's only going to hurt them.
I mean, there's nothing wrong with fantasies on their own...until you let them stop you from helping yourself.
Unfortunately, religions have a tendency to place dumb restrictions on things, because uninformed old people trust vague interpretations of an old text, or their own feelings over scientific fact. Happened with Rock and Roll, video games, D&D, comic books, "The Gays", television, and now Transpeople are the evilest evil in the world.

True. Therapists should always be consulted in a matter like that. I remember watching specials that talked about why some people need to explore that part of themselves or risk mental illness as a result.
I guess knowing you could do that would be nice. Just knowing it's an option gives people hope to go on.
I agree with the fantasies. I'm content to dream, but I can't speak for everyone.
Well, to summarize my view, I can't encourage gender reassignment surgery or treatment with a clear conscience or certainty due to the risks and my upbringing. I would like to say, though, I abide by my church's policy of, "hate the sin, love the sinner" when it comes down to a matter such as this. Everyone is trying to handle things the way they think is right. It's a very tough call, but all we can ever do is stand by what we believe in and go from there.
