A really beuatiful book.
I've been wanting to make a sketch book for myself for quite a while, researching bindings and techniques, and I saw this. It's just how I want mine to look and I was wondering if you had any tips/tutorials for a first time binder, and how you distressed/printed the leather like that, and ridged the spine, it looks superb!
Sorry theres a lot of questions in there.. I just admire a fine looking book

thanks!

i used leather cement to adhere the leather. the ridge effect on the spine was done by putting leather strips on the bound book first, then applying the actual leather cover. distressing was done with dye and sandpaper. i had done a lot of leatherwork prior to this, but this was only the second book i'd made. fairly easy to do, once you figure out all of your measurements and cut your pieces. have fun making yours!

thanks a lot!

bit of a long process. binding instructions i found on the web. sized and cut the leather, cemented it to the book. did a bit of distressing and finishing dye touches.

not too hard if you have the right tools...
