Description A redo of this old deviation, [link] she needed an update! I tweaked her design slightly but stayed true to how I envisioned her as an older more mature character previously.

I'm real proud of how far I come and love how I reworked this! Tell me what you think guys!

A Self Reliant, athletic, stubborn girl and very capable fighter. She quit chasing sonic and developed her own set of skills and dropped her childish attitude. She'd go to great lengths to protect her friends and is viewed as the " mature big sister " role model to the rest of Freedom HQ. She's lost interest in finding a boyfriend and insists on keeping it that way.

I jammed to this while I drew her up!

Amy's theme: [link]

She quit chasing sonic and developed her own set of skills and dropped her childish attitude.
She's lost interest in finding a boyfriend and insists on keeping it that way.

While in my continuity, I also had Amy become more mature.
adopting leadership qualities akin to her Sonic Boom counterpart,

I doubt she has fully given up on love, and would accept a boyfriend/husband ifΒ theΒ right one comes her way.

Maybe It's just me, butΒ theΒ idea of anyone living their life ALONE,
without a life companionΒ just seems lonely, and quite depressing.

(I suppose that's okay for SOME, but not me.)

To sum It up, HALF of your Amy I support..the other half I don't.

so, It's 50/50.

She needs someone to love and love her back. Maybe you could pair her together with one of your own characters?

I was possibly considering pairing her with shadow in the fan comic I was doing.

Hey Look! Another character that sucks, which you've made awesome!

Aurora-La In reply to MasterFusion [2014-02-17 23:02:56 +0000 UTC]

Why do you think she sucks?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

MasterFusion In reply to Aurora-La [2014-02-18 06:16:26 +0000 UTC]

Because for starters: the SEGA Amy Rose, has a over-sized mallet, I would have preferred another weapon like a bow and arrow

But the worst part about Amy is herΒ personality:Β stubborn and nosey, a she's aΒ stalker who tries to get at Sonic any way she can and she hasΒ a short temper. And on top of that, AmyΒ threatens sonic when she doesn't get her way. That is bad and sad!

Ergo, Amy is a badly-written, poorly-developed, one-dimensional character. However her Fleetway counterpart happens to be the only version of Amy that I like, look her up sometime if you haven't.

Aurora-La In reply to MasterFusion [2014-02-18 12:14:57 +0000 UTC]

Before I start, just note this is my opinion.

I think Amy Rose's design was made to be funny. It's funny that she adores sonic so much she wants to follow him around! It's funny that she has an over-sized hammer as a weapon! She's not a hard-core stalker; that's just what some people made her up as. Do you ever see her going through his mail? No!

I think Amy is anything but one dimensional. She's friendly, funny, and awesome with a giant hammer! Don't not like her because of one bad personality trait-don't we all have those?

Maybe you just don't like the Sonamy ship. I can see that. But please don't hate Amy because of the pairing!

Lovely design, I personally liked the hair style more on her in the old version of this, but that's just my opinion. I also like how she matured and changed, but does she still have some of her old qualities personality wise ?

Her hairstyle is the same as the old Picture I drew. She still has a competitive personality, is just as stubborn and nosey as she used to be, and is still prideful of herself, but she does show a level of maturity.Β

I'd like to know why exactly she gave up on Sonic, but I should imagine that it probably involves Sonic and Sally getting much closer.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ThatBlue-Bolt In reply to ToaArcan [2013-05-23 17:41:21 +0000 UTC]

Well, As she matured more, she seen how close Sonic was with Sally but not only that. She had a realization on how childish she was acting, how she had not matured and Sonic would always been several miles ahead of her, he's always been ahead of everyone, including Sally. He makes the choice on who he lets himself become close to.

Sonic by nature is an individual who's always settled things with his own choices, not by someone forcing him, and Amy would figure that all she's done is try to force him to like her, or force her affections on him. Not only that but she's spent the majority of her time with her older body wasted on trying to impress him, which has worked on so rare of an occasion.

Wasting her time like that only favored in her being a liability to the team and getting captured by Robotnik/ Eggman more. Sure it's toned down in the past few years but she'd take a step back and realize she has barely contributed to the team. The fate of mobius and their freedom is at stake as long as Robotnik runs free and continues to enforce his tyrant rule. Her eyes opened and realized it isn't just about Sonic anymore, it's about their home, their freedom.

She'll finally realize " enough is enough " and stop chasing him and focus on what she should have from the start, hone skills for herself, become more than some barely useful girl swinging around a giant hammer. Amy dedicated herself to contributing to the fight against Robotnik. She used a few years to hone her mind and body to become a better planner, a better fighter.

Amy has a competitive streak in her ( A quality I let her retain since she was competitive for Sonic's affections ) and is eager to prove she's not a helpless little girl anymore. I also intended on giving her flexibility. Something she'd earn through training herself in gymnastics and learning martial art techniques to help better her Skills on the field.

ToaArcan In reply to ThatBlue-Bolt [2013-05-23 17:53:58 +0000 UTC]

Ah, I see.

Added, since Tails isn't with the team anymore (Remind me, did he leave of his own choosing or did Sally take him off field duty because he was becoming too aggressive?), they don't have two super-powered beings to pull their fat out of the fryer, so they have to be more careful.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ThatBlue-Bolt In reply to ToaArcan [2013-05-23 18:31:20 +0000 UTC]

Tails left on his own, and came back with a very aggressive attitude/ standpoint on combating Robotnik. Exactly, they don't have the muscle they used to, so Amy stepped up to the plate to be a moral rolemodel to the rest of Freedom HQ and new recruits along side Sally, whose more of a headstrong motherly figure while Amy is the competitive, mature, big sister figure.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ToaArcan In reply to ThatBlue-Bolt [2013-05-23 18:35:40 +0000 UTC]

And from there, we end up with Tails becoming an emotionally crippled nihilist while Scourge runs the place and Fiona tries to snap him out of it.

ThatBlue-Bolt In reply to ToaArcan [2013-05-23 21:52:32 +0000 UTC]

Exactly. Also, some shipping of Amy and Shadow comes into play since I think they'd be able to mutual understand each other by this point. It's not strongly but it will be implied.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ToaArcan In reply to ThatBlue-Bolt [2013-05-24 01:21:59 +0000 UTC]

I'd leave it open after the villains are killed/defeated, as to where exactly Tails and Fiona will take their lives, whether Tails will get over his issues and rejoin the heroes, or stay separate from them, if the FF survive, that is. Hinting at another threat gradually building behind the scenes might be a good idea too.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ThatBlue-Bolt In reply to ToaArcan [2013-05-24 01:34:43 +0000 UTC]

I was going to leave it at that but I may have a big crucial addition to the original intended ending...a possibility where out blue hero might lose his life.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ToaArcan In reply to ThatBlue-Bolt [2013-05-24 07:56:46 +0000 UTC]

I'm not really fond of the idea of killing Sonic, especially considering how it would affect the characters. Sally would be destroyed (Her breakdown in 134 is because she's terrified of losing him again), especially if she knew there was no chance of him returning, which would effectively cripple the Freedom Fighters' tactical core, leaving only Nicole, who, since this is Archie, absed her personality on Sally's, so she'll be destroyed too, and Rotor. It would probably make Tails worse, and send him back to where he was at the start of the story as well, considering that he goes on a Roaring Rampage of Revenge in SA2 when he isn't bitter, jaded and hormonal.

Of course, killing other heroes who weren't AS important to Tails as Sonic and Sally (And pssoibly Bunnie), or won't cause time paradoxes by dying like Nicole are a-okay. Hell, I'd recommend making some OC Freedom Fighters and villains who exist to get killed off (But only, of course, after the readership have become attached to them). Therix did it with his series, 'Violet Era', and it worked pretty well.

ThatBlue-Bolt In reply to ToaArcan [2013-05-24 16:20:10 +0000 UTC]

I was considering it as a " possible " end but not the " end all be all " end since I am indecisive about it. It would have to do with Sonic passing down the mantle of Hero to tails. I could go on and explain how I would think it would happen and how the characters would act but I do see your point and it is making me think twice about it.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ToaArcan In reply to ThatBlue-Bolt [2013-05-24 16:29:20 +0000 UTC]

I think it makes for a better story when a sidekick matures into a hero in their own right without the previous hero having to be killed off to get there. That way, they've grown into their new role, as opposed to taking up the mantle out of necessity. You could still have Tails take Sonic;s place, but maybe have Sonic retire to be with Sally and possibly raise their children, or Sonic is crippled, or stripped of his powers, or he becomes king and has to take more responsibilities on a wider range, leaving him with less time to play hero.
