Description But I had to. What you said cracked me up and inspired me to do this rage-comic :3

Don't take it the wrong way. Many people don't know what science fiction really is.

But it isn't "Thor". That's all I can say.

Well...technically, since the movie was based on the comics, not the mythology...wouldn't it count as fiction? Or would it be fantasy? Hm...

Well yes(even though the comics was a bad adaptation of the mythology so it would count as a far out real/myth-story), but never SCIENCE fiction :3

I dont' think they were trying to make the comics be exactly like the mythology, just a fun twist on it. I grew up reading them, haha

The only one I can think that the did that was nearly totally based on mythology would be The Trials of Loki, and it's amazing.

I don't really know much about the comics, but there's something that pisses me off... A little about it. And btw, no offense to the fans of the comics. I bet if you look away from the fact that they used the mythology but didn't do their research correctly it's probably some kick-ass comicbooks. Speaking as a scandinavian and nordic I absolutely can't look away from this enormous flaw. There's just something that drives me completely off the track: Maybe it's the way they portrayed Thor and Loki and some other characters as superheroes(meaning spandex-wearing jocks) instead of Gods and asgardians, and that's probably the twist you where writing about. It sounds like I'm ranting my ass off, but I'm not meaning any of this in an angry matter or... My english isn't perfect, sorry >_<'

What I'm trying to say is I am a hipster tool who will(almost) always prefer the original from the ripoff :3

Haha, no, I understand. My friend follows the norse myths too, and she tells me this stuff all the time. I just like having friendly debates n_n

I can see where you're coming from, though, however if everything were exactly like the mythology then they probably wouldn't have been able to go with their super-hero twist. Like...in the newer ones they act more like Gods, but back in the day they were pretty bad -_-

But in all honesty I few them like I would, say, that Hercules movie from disney; it's based of the mythology, but with a small twist to make it more...human, maybe?

Good, it would suck if I sounded like an arrogant knows-it-all ^3^ I am trying my best not to be that kind of person, believe me.

I know that you can see what land I'm from, it's just that you can't apparently see it unless you check my profile.
I think it might just be me who has a problem: I don't think superhero-comics are that interesting. You could make a comic-series without the superhero-twist and it would have my full attention. Heck, that has already been done!(but I think those comics where only released in scandinavia...)

I must thank you for making me realize what my problem really was with these comicbooks. Thanks! ^^

I liked the "Hercules"-movie very much, but that stuck to the myths. And it did twist it a lot(like the fact that Hercules is more of a hero than a brutal killer-machine which he is in the greek mythology) but it still stuck to the myth alright. Not saying that the comics didn't at all, they just didn't do it right, or they just twisted it a lot. Making it more human with a twist...? Well... Don't know.

I'd love to read those comics D8

And yeah, they stray very far from the actual mythology so it more easily wraps around the Marvel-verse they created, haha. I laughed so hard when they were like, "Well, there are multiple dimensions, and in this dimension this is how it goes" XD

I guess you can explain away anything with sudo-science, haha

And you're english is really good; I never thought you sounded arrogant at all. In fact, I'd like to thank you; most people would have flied off the handle by now, haha

They rock O_O Someday I'd like to translate them if the creators would let me...

Agree, agree And you mean "pseudo-science, right? :3

I guess my english is above average for a person my age, but I want to write as clearly as possible and express my opinion in the way I would if I wrote it in danish ^_^ No prob, I thank you too.
