LADIES AND GENTS, I AM BACK!Though I know no one was holding their breath.. is anyone still here, actually? I dunno.
ANYWAY!
I HAVE WONDERFUL NEWS! I FINALLY BOUGHT MYSELF A TABLET AND I COULDN'T BE MORE EXCITED.
I have spent literally YEARS griping about my inability to draw, and I always sort of knew that it was because I didn't have a tablet, but I never looked into one because they were much too expensive. But I found a little Wacom at the store for eighty bucks a few weeks ago and I couldn't get it off my mind.
Well, today was the day, and I finally picked it up! IT IS MAGIC
DAMNIT! HAD I /KNOWN/ JUST HOW MUCH A TABLET HELPS, I WOULD HAVE BOUGHT ONE FUCKING YEARS AGO! But alas, I was simply unaware.
Well! I'm back and I'm FINALLY ready to draw like I've always wanted to.
PREPARE THYSELVES
Or don't. I work now and barely have any time off so I can't actually do much in the way of drawing, but WHEN I CAN, I SHALL!

Wow that's great! Honestly you've always had some skill. In my opinion, it was just the lack of motivation that kept you from drawing, as well as the time, that prevented you from unleashing it. You seem very knowledgeable with night fury anatomy, and so I'm certain you'll do an excellent job at drawing them

Mostly it was the tablet. Mouse drawing made me upset, which stifled my desire to draw, which led me to not devote any time to it. But now it's all changed and I am SO excited!

Fahren omg!!! I missed you! <3 I've always loved your sketches but I see how a tablet can make the experience totally different and hopefully a lot more motivating. Looking forward to seeing more from you :3

It's been so long!!
Yuusssss, oh my gawd, it's been crazy how much and how WELL I've been able to draw since I got this thing. EVERY THOUGHT that I have is drawable, and now those thoughts FINALLY won't vaporize into the wind. I'm drawing /evvrrryyytthhiiinnggg/. And I'm going to make it a point to post as MUCH of it as I can, even if I tell myself that I'll get back to it later. I just don't trust myself enough yet to hold up to that. So basically, EVERYTHING is going to be quick sketches for a good long while.
(Also because I actually don't know how to color in using Sai yet, but I have a feeling I'll get there far sooner than I think.)

You never were terrible at drawing, I've always really liked your art and style! Look how smooth your lines are here, even though it's just as sketch.

Partially the reason I admired your stuff so much was your anatomy is generally pretty on par, and you used a mouse! I lost the ability to use a mouse entirely about three years ago, so when I see someone who is capable with a mouse I'm always like "WOW, TEACH MEEE."

Lol, you would NOT like to see the process I used with a mouse, it was AWWWFFUULL.
If you go back through my gallery and find a picture called "Belly Rub?" You'll see what I mean. That was THE BEST I could do with freehanding a mouse. The actually good lines came from using that like.. pathing tool, where it would create a bezier curve and you would manipulate the lines. But even then, with GIMP, it was a nightmare. I can say that now that I have truly experienced the GODSENT WONDER that is Sai.

Got the job done, though.
As for manipulating and deforming lines, I've been using SAI and a tablet for over four years now, and I still reply heavily on the deforming tool. Hands are far too unsteady, so I can somewhat relate.
That's a tablet. I'm not really intent on seeing a mouse from my end.
But yup, I swear by SAI.
..If that's your worst, I wanna see your best.

I'm really hoping I can finally do good on art trades and even start doing commissions. Cheap ones, obviously. I'm not really worth /anything/, at least right now, but I just /want/ stuff to draw now that I can.
