Description I saw a seagull on top of a tower today. Suddenly, I wanted to BE that seagull. What's wrong w/ me?!

Maybe it's the way seagulls are. They're so chill all the time. No worries, ever. They don't have tests or homework, and they get to hang out at the beach all day.

Maybe it was the way it was the way the seagull was just hangin' on top of that tower, looking down on all us students, scattered, rushing to get to our next class. It looked down on us with pity as it just chilled and thought about whatever.

Why can't we humans live like that? People who do live like the seagull are viewed as useless, or obstacles to society. What's the big deal about society? It just tells us how we should live our lives. It defines us, and groups us together. We can't all grow up to be uptight businessmen who don't even have time for their own families, but we all will have to, someday. Society rewards the man who works hard to accomplish his dreams with enough money to feed his family and live a nice life. People like me, who envy the seagull, and just need an escape from the constant demands of society, aren't expected to go far or even live very long. But, we all have to submit to society's will and become the businessmen who goes to work at 6 and comes home at 6 pm, obsessed with the his next paycheck and the superficiality he can obtain with it, with barely enough time to... be.

I would like to refuse this system, and live a happy life based on my definition of happiness (see David Hansen's note). So what am I to do? Sit in my classroom and be fed morals that would be blasphemous to the seagull. Damn seagulls. I'm jealous.
