Bella woke up to the clanking of a wagon. She tried to sit up but she realized she had been bound with ropes. “Help! Help!” She screamed. “Shit she’s up! Quickly shut her up!” Two men here siting at the reins. One got up to deal with Bella, but she tried to get out of the wagon. But they had tied her legs up as well. “Who the-Mmmm!” She was interrupted by the man stuffing his bandanna in her mouth. It tasted of sweat and salt. “Gghhmmm!” She moaned as he then tied another around her head, covering her mouth. “Alrighty then, she won’t be screamin’ no more Charlie.” But she still screamed, and she kicked wagon in frustration. “Don’t worry miss, we’re almost there.” “Whhmmm?” Bella looked at the men confused. “Threw that blanket over her, we don’t need her to be seem.” Charlie tossed the blanket over Bella. Her boots still poking from under the blanket. She rustled under the blanket, but she could not manage to get it off.

Bella could hear cattle, they must have stopped at someone’s farm, Bella didn’t know any of any farmers that maybe out to get her. The blanket was removed. “See we got the girl for ya.” Bella looked up to see Charlie looking over the wagon down at her. She screamed at him, “Gggrrmmmfff!” “Hey now missy I’m just here to get my money. No hard feelings.” Then she was pulled by her boots out of the wagon, she was then prompted up against the back to be face to face with who wanted her.

“Hello Bella.” She looked up to see Lawrence Lee, a rancher, but also a fence. He sold trinkets and other things as a side job. Bella remembered why now. She had stolen some valuables from is house, another fence had put her up to this. “I know Paul put you up to this, now where are my things!” He slide the gag down from her mouth and removed the stuffed bandanna. “Now tell me.” She spat at him. “Alright then!” He put the gag back, “Mmmppph.” She moaned. “She probably has it on her. Search her!” Charlie went about patting down Bella, head to toe. Charlie put his fingers between boots and tucked pants. She wiggled her legs, trying to stop him but he pulled out a sketch of a map folded up in the side of her left boot. “Here you go sir,” he handed it to Mr. Lee.

Lawrence forced Bella to take them to where his valuables were stashed. “Hhhhmmm.” Bella gestured with her head to were the stash was. Lawrence removed the piled up rocks to see nothing there. “He has it already! You knew this!” He pointed at Bella. She shrugged. “Mmmm dnnmm nnmmm.” “Well boss looks like we need to go to Paul.” “Yes we do, put her back in the wagon you’re going now.” Charlie put Bella back in the wagon and re-tied her legs together and threw the blanket back over her.

Half way to Paul’s Charlie stopped. Bella was still wiggling about and moaning in the back. “You can go now,” He said as he rolled back the blanket. He cut her ropes. “You’re letting me go? What about Lawrence?” “Ahhh he’s getting old he’ll forget about this in a week or so. And I’m not gonna sit here and listen to you whine anymore, you can go.” Bella rubbed her wrists from where the ropes had bound them. “Well thank you for letting me go.” “Don’t mention it, and definitely don’t go making deals with Lawrence again. I don’t wanna deal with this kind of situation again.” Bella nodded and went on her way back to her camp outside of Valentine.

Now back at her camp she tended to Isaiah and made sure nothing had been taken in her absence. “Ha I tricked ‘em all.” Bella moved over a box in her tent, revealing the lost valuables of Lawrence Lee.
