not so much quality as in methods. A lot of anime gets by moving a camera across a 90% still image to create the idea of movement. Not saying its bad, it keeps costs down and means that production is faster but to me it leaves the whole thing feeling very stiff. Even action scenes suffer from this usually receiving a zoom in with some speed lines to create the illusion. I find with more western animation things flow a lot smoother and just have a nicer feel to me. I'm a sucker for vintage cartoons because of the way the animation is made. I think One punchman and kill la kill are the only two i can watch and genuinely enjoy
