Both.
If one does great things in their life, they are remembered in a great way.
If they died greatly, it is as so.
But if they did bad things in life, they will be remembered badly.
Until their death makes people look it aside in mourning.
Unless said person was a really really crappy person.
Then people through a party and invite everyone and celebrate said person's death with like skull cakes and screwed up things like that, then t-p the guy's house...

Question was oriented more on how they were, not how good or bad they were.
Imagine a person. This person did absolutely nothing except eat, drink, and breathe. One day he was stabbed by a serial killer. Do you remember him as the guy who ate, drank, and breathed, or the guy that got stabbed?
Basically, if you don't know someone well are they remembered with their life or their death?
Skull cakes. Wut.

Whichever is more memorable.
Stabbed vegatable=remembered for death.
Daredevil acrobat chokes on pear=remembered for life.
Skull-shaped cakes to be specific.

i think the textures on the stones look really awesome.
have you ever seen the movie The Bucket List?
it was really inspiring.
dialogue from my favorite scene:
Carter: You know, the ancient Egyptians had a beautiful belief about death. When their souls got to the entrance to heaven the gods asked them two questions. Their answers determined whether they were admitted or not.
Edward: Ok, I'll bite. What were they?
Carter: Have you found joy in your life?
Edward: Uh-huh.
Carter: Answer the question.
Edward: Me?
Carter: Yeah, you.
Edward: Answer the question, "Have I found joy in my life?"
Carter: Yes.
Edward: Yes.
Carter: Has your life brought joy to others?

Thanks. Can't say I've seen the movie.
Dialogue is incredibly confusing, hah. Awesome though.
