What ARE his powers besides his shape-shifting?

He's a descendant from Poseidon besides being a son of Mars, he's a Mars child who, unlike his siblings, uses strategy instead of brute force which is unique to him and, if he's not attacked with fire, he's somewhat immortal. Though that last part is never really explained fully.

...it's not explained that his life is put into a piece of fire wood?

Yup. Doesn't change anything to me though. I love Frank but he is overpowered. We all know the piece of wood won't kill him - like, it's ok and all that but he has too much going on for him. You're free to disagree - go ahead. But it's an issue I had - as well as I dislike how he had Mars actually giving him attention and how he hated it. You have to understand that Clarisse is my favorite character and I watched her struggle to get her father's approval through five books whilst Frank has it already and just hates it, you know? I do like Frank, he just has some flaws (and some lack of flaws as well) that I don't really like. He had great improvement as a character in this third book so yay. But it's just my opinion, so, like, you can freely think I'm wrong and just not bother about whether or not I think he has too many powers.
