It's not cheating in the least, as far as I'm concerned. Β First off, the same amount of work went into coloring the pic both ways (and in one pic I changed her outfit slightly).Β
And, second, this is the first instance were anyone has called anything doing something like that, "cheating", so it's all news to me. My good buddy and I have been doing that for years now with nary a complaint.
To me, cheating is taking someone else's art and altering the colors and/or a detail or two, and calling it your own.

Ummm...yeah! Well technically I'm taking their work but not calling it my own AND they've either given permission to use it OR they posted tha work with a "Share-Alike" License which means anyone who feels they can enhance that work is allowed to do so AND post tha result so long as they use the same"Share-Alike" License that they posted theirs with!
So my stance is one that we aren't cheating either!
