He didn't have his father killed??? Eol tried to kill him, killed his mother instead and was executed accordingly. That isn't Maeglin's fault.

So... let me get this straight... it's somehow OKAY for Eol to try to murder his son?? Somehow there are circumstances that make it okay for a parent to murder their child? Maeglin hadn't done anything wrong at that point except leave Nan Elmoth with his mother.

He had no reason to be loyal to Turgon. I'm not saying what he did was right, but he saw both of his parents killed right in front of him because of his uncle's stupid law. Then his uncle basically goes and gives the red carpet treatment to two mortals when he couldn't be bothered to show half that leniency on the family of his sister? That isn't loyalty winning behaviour.
I, quite frankly, can't blame Maeglin for not having an ounce of loyalty towards Turgon. His life is completely destroyed (and he obviously loved his mother so seeing her murdered right IN FRONT OF HIM is going to severely scar him) and Turgon has an attitude of... well, yes, crap happened, but you're my heir now, so all's good!
And let's not forget that Eol was controlling and possessive. I don't hate him. In fact, I have nothing but sympathy for that doomed family, but he essentially kidnapped his wife, forbade both her and their son to leave the forest, threatened to put his son in chains and then tried to kill him rather than let someone else possess him. How messed up is that? And you think that Maeglin should emerge from this completely normal and act like everybody else?

Disons que le Silmarillion c'est dur à lire... Mais l'histoire, les différents et nombreux personnages, sont vraiment vraiment très intéressants.
Et l'univers est tellement vaste qu'il y a un paquet de truc à faire pour ceux qui veulent s'amuser en dessinant ou faisant des fanfictions aussi. ^^

Maeglin est creepy mais il m'a toujours fait de la peine, avec le père qu'il avait, c'était pas gagné!
C'est sympa de voir d'autres personnages "secondaires" de temps en temps ( même si techniquement Thrandy est hyper secondaire mais WHAT??!!! qui est-ce qui a dit ça?! Shame! ) !

oui. Maeglin je le vois... plutôt comme une pauvre victime anéantit plein de remord et de déception plutôt que comme un grand méchant traitre ! même si ce qu'il a fait c'est pas bien ! ^^ Et moi il me fait de la peine... C'est juste que Melkor a exploités ses faiblesses.
Et Thranduil est secondaire, mais il est fait presque comme un personnage principal je trouve. XD ou alors c'est parce que je l'aime bien !

Mais trop! Le pauvre a vécu dans une forêt, sans voir personne toute sa vie et il se retrouve largué en pleine ville au milieu de (je pense qu'on peut le dire lol) pas mal de péteux et par dessus le marché, l'elfe dont il tombe amoureux est pas dispo!! Même sans Melkor, il avait déjà aucune chance!
Ahah, je valide! Perso je suis pour une nouvelle trilogie. "Une journée dans la vie d'un grand roi" XD
