My entry to the #Pokedorks [link] contest: Pokemons in space [link]

The whole Pokémon universe, on my opinion, is explored in an extreme poor way. Even if the canon games are quite fun, both them and the cartoon sometimes sound quite...silly.

And when i mean silly, i don't mean imture or stupid. They're story-wise boring. With a few exceptions, the pokémon franchise fails deeply in script.

I've tried a semi-realistic aproach with this piece. I always try to run away from mangá, but i didn't wanted to photoshop animals similar to pokémon as well...

I'm still getting the hang on matte painting, but i pretty much liked the result this time.

Software: Blender 3D (For modeling the raw magnemite), Photoshop for the manipulation and painting.

I've had to change a few aspects of the image due the contest rules. The new sky now is 80% handpainted, 20% filtering. So are the thunders.
