For some reason a couple of people really liked Percy's random appearance being bullshitted about unknowingly, which I'm really happy about I like him a lot and he deserves to be goofy and gently ribbed sometimes. (Vex agrees, don't @ me.)
So, yeah. The crux of what I wanted to explore and couldn't just write about was the different relationships Pike and Scanlan have with their death scars, which (in my mind, at least) are pretty fucking impressive, and not in the "badass-looking" sense so much as "making people uncomfortable and go 'oh my god, are you okay'" sense. And while Pike has had some time to deal with hers, Scanlan's are still pretty fresh by comparison. Plus Pike wears heavy armour (which requires padding underneath) while Scanlan... does wear armour, as befits a DnD character, but almost every single depiction I've seen of him from fanart to official art and The Legend of Vox Machina has him rocking one hell of a man cleavage at the very least They do have different ways to present themselves and their bodies, so it makes sense that they'd deal with such a drastic change differently. (right?) (...am I overthinking this? probably.)
The sword Kaylie is holding is Singing Dawnblade - it's that bit in "Hope" where Scanlan finds her amongst Westruun refugees with Dr Dranzel and gives her the sword, and she makes him promise to stay alive. Which... oh, Scanlan. I get why he promised. But it's such an impossible thing to promise and he came to hang so bloody much on that one promise...
