the darkness of this shot is what first brings me in... i immediately feel like i am in this room with the person and it's very cold. the glass figure on the right is very unusual and interesting - it definitely adds vision and originality to the piece. i'm guessing it's a light fixture, but it reminds me of the bottom of a drinking glass. very stunning.

i also like the light that is leaking into the room and over the person - it seems to be light that doesn't hold any warmth in it, but adds to the visual quality of the photo. the colors are muted and add to the cold and dark atmosphere of the piece.

the textures in this photo are also very beautiful and add so much to the photograph - the smooth sleak glass, the rough textured wood, the ribbing of the fabric, and the person's face and hair. very diverse textures. the hair is also positions in a dream-like quality that almost makes it look like it's underwater. a very interesting piece.
