Description: Though these strange variety of feathered lizards have eyes, they are completely blind. They rely heavily on vibrations through the ground and air. They have sensory pads located on the bottom of each foot and highly adept nodes in the inner ear cavity to detect air vibrations. They have nostrils, though their primary sense of smell comes from their tongues much like a snake. They have sharp, tiny teeth used to size down eggs, insects, and small rodents. They have massive claws used to dig into the earth and even forms of rock have been documented. They burrow large networks deep underground that have been recorded to stretch for miles.
On the end of most feathers are a small node that seem to aid in aerial vibrations also. The sizes of plumage seems to be larger for males to attract females. Mating is usually for life and breeding can include at least one live young every year. Gestation period is generally 6-7 months. Color varies of hides from specimen to specimen. It is thought that the more abstract the colors, the more likely to attract a mate.
