The costume shown here is Ms. Marvel, not Captain Marvel. In the comics, Carol Danvers wore several costumes, including this one, as Ms. Marvel until she took over as Captain Marvel following the death of the original male hero of that name. The movie version basically skips over all of that back story. Of course I drew this one because I think the costume is far better, and also because I started working on this months ago, long before the movie arrived.

As for inking, well, you're right about the time consumption thing. Not just inking by itself, but also learning how to do it effectively. If you go back and read the comments from a couple of my older comics you will see me lamenting how bad I am at inking. I eventually figured out part of the problem was the scale of the drawings. Those earlier comics are all drawn on one page of paper. That was fine for pencils but when I tried inking, the drawings were too small and the inking inevitably looked terrible. By changing to full page panels it became feasible, so now every panel is a separate page unto itself. That change really helped a lot, but it also means going back and inking those older comics is probably not going to work.

Yeah, knew about that with Carol.

And understandable with the older comics thing. Will just have to hope for sequels in the future.
