Shayla waited, listening carefully, until she heard the distant sound of the car door slamming and the engine revving to life. The shadows through the basement window told the tale as her master's car backed out of the driveway outside and sped off, carrying him away on some mysterious errand. Probably to buy more demaning outfits for me to wear, she thought disgustedly. Well, no more. This time I'm not waiting around to see what he has in store for me next.

He usually did a good job leaving her no way to escape the cage, but this time he made a mistake. Shayla grinned as she caught hold of the enormous mechanical pencil and pulled it through the grid-like bars. Working swiftly, she used the insanely huge writing implement as a lever to pop the oversized latch loose. A moment later she swung the gate open, free at last.

Without hesitation she hurried to the power cord, not bothering to change clothes, mostly because her master's trips never lasted very long and he might return at any time. The skintight pants and halter top, with leather boots and gloves added for no reason other than to feed her master's fetish, would have to do. She knew she'd need every second if she hoped to get out of the cavernous basement. With ony the barest hint of trepidation, little Shayla hastened down the plastic cable toward the wide expanse of floor far below, not really knowing or caring how she'd get away, or what would happen to her then. Surviving at three inches high would be difficult, if not impossible, but she'd figure it out. She had no choice. She couldn't stay here, despite the promise of safety and security...it wasn't worth it. She couldn't take another minute with him.

She reached the floor and scurried off, eagerly searching for an escape route. I'll find a way, she told herself. I'll make it, somehow, and no matter what happens, anything's better than being his pet...
