Description

Struggling for breath, Candice finally managed to struggle up onto the top of the enormous desk, not an easy task for someone only a few inches tall. Until a few minutes ago, she'd been normal-sized, prepping the experimental miniaturizer for another test, when something went wrong. The beam activated on its own, striking her in the back of the neck as she bent over to make some adjustments to the power systems. As she lay there in a daze, the energy surged through her body, as well as her underclothes and boots, but didn't quite catch hold of her looser-fitting skirt and blouse. As a result, within moments she found herself swimming in layers of oversized clothes. By the time she crawled out, the office had swelled to gigantic proportions, the chair and desk towering overhead like small buildings.

She hastened to climb, hoping she could reach the computer in time to stop the process before it finished. The shrinking effect came swiftly, but locking in the duration always took a few extra minutes. So she hurried, managing to find small handholds in the grainy wood surface, until finally reaching the top with the greatest of effort. Gasping, she got to her feet, hurrying as fast as she could across the wide surface, finally coming around the corner of the laptop and putting out a hand to catch herself. With a sinking heart she saw the progress bar on the screen, already nearly halfway complete...and she'd set the duration on this particular test at maximum. That meant if she didn't stop it, she'd stay like this forever!

With an air of desperation she crawled onto the touchpad and moved the pointer over to the cancel button. By the time she clicked it, the bar showed half finished. That meant she'd be stuck like this for an unknown length of time. So far in all their tests, they'd never thought to cancel out of a maximum duration halfway through the process, so she had no idea how long the effects would linger. Possibly hours, or days, or...or...

She collapsed onto the edge of the keyboard, putting her face in her hands, trying to figure out what she was going to do, and that's when the door opened...
