Some of you may remember that until recently, I used to draw Wonder Woman quite frequently . The reason I became obsessed with the character is that I didn't think too highly of her "classic" costume, and thought it could be improved, which I tried to do, again and again.

After a while, it was no longer fun, but I still enjoyed drawing superhero fanart, so I decided to focus on Batgirl instead. I have no problem with Batgirl's costume. In fact, in my opinion, the character has had at least three very good costume designs (the Carmine Infantino design, the Batman '66 design and the Cassandra Caine Batman), and there's no need to improve on them. So my motivation this time is quite different. There's something irresistible with the combination of the words "bat" and "girl", and although I'll be posting straight-up redesigns, such as this one, I'll also draw things which stray further away from the character as it is usually portrayed. And even when I post regular redesigns, I'll be tinkering with styles and techniques, which is why this Batgirl in particular has those big blue eyes.
