Description The large air steamer Weyland cruising the skies.

The titanic vessel is one of two sister ships. At a healthy 2000 feet, the Weyland has many of the comforts enjoyed by ocean liner passengers. Featuring "deck and a half" layouts, the passenger areas are fairly spacious. The interior design of passenger areas is styled in the reserved, proper manner of Lawrencia. This contrasts with the Weyland's sister Yutani, which was given a more exotic Xhang decor.

While either of the sisters offers a genuinely pleasant experience, there are fairly strict weight limitations per passenger.

I really like this! A whole theme of airship liners is very inviting. Consider this: dieselpunk era with a crossover of steampunk equipment that is still in service is slowly and quietly circulating over the globe. Some of the ships are lost to storms, but majority of them provides reliable, smooth and efficient service both in cargo and passenger transportation.

I'm developing a character that would be commanding a fleet of Route 66 airships, both like the one in this image as well as heavier than air made-of-steel ships. The route has been plagued with violent dust-storms and tornados, and requires best of the kind crew members, those who have learned the trade all over the world, both in merchant airmanship, as well as in the Great and local wars.

You are far too kind, Alex.

I'll perhaps have to motivate my lazy self to do another of what I call a "Lone Islands Picture" soon.

There be a great many images stored up in my mind concerning your world.

The problem is that I often find myself in the doldrums of "artist's block". I don't know about you, but I hate to force the creative process...

I know EXACTLY where you come from my friend, exactly where. Β Forcing it is the worst thing you can do. Β Let it come naturally!

Although I am straining at the bit to see these ideas of yours.

Your enthusiasm is appreciated.

I cannot promise anything, but between a friend of mine asking me to design a tattoo for them and your conversation, I believe I am feeling the stir of creativity again. Sometimes all it takes is a little push to get things going.

Hmm, steam powered? That's a bit heavy but with 2000 feet of airship possible. Not very streamlined though. Keep up the good work. I enjoy all your work.

It exists in a friend's world and story, so the steam tech is a bit more developed than in reality. However, the notion is at least feasible with our current technology. I found something called the Cyclone steam engine most interesting.

Thermals would be an issue. I wonder if extendable wings for dynamic lift at need would be an interesting thought or feature to include in your airships.

Thermals?! What nonsense be this???

Why, "Das Afrika Schiff" proved one can travel in warmer climates via dirigible just fine. Well, OK, not entirely just fine, but well enough.

I meant for a vessel that large--she'd have a strong tendency to hog.

YES. That is where most of the resources for this world come from, being a world of small islands extensive mining there would mean no liveable space. From the teeth comes everything from iron ore to coal.
