This takes place in a somewhat modern AU that takes place in the universe of the Jurassic Park/World series.

Hiccup is now seven years old, and today is his birthday. His parents know he has a fascination and love for dinosaurs, so they figure a trip to Jurassic World on Isla Nublar would be the perfect birthday present for him. One of the things Hiccup never really expected he'd get to do was pet a real life dinosaur, and a Velociraptor at that! One of the raptor handlers introduced himself as Owen Grady, and how he had been working at Jurassic World as a trainer for over two years now (so this takes place years before Jurassic World) and he was told it was Hiccup's birthday today, so he decided to allow Hiccup into the raptor cage and was given a step stool so he could stand up to the raptor's eye-level. One of the raptors (Blue) actually walked up to Hiccup, and Owen instructed him on how to properly pet a real life Velociraptor, and it was the greatest thing Hiccup ever did in his entire life! Ever since that day, Hiccup decided working at Jurassic World would be his dream career, and he wanted to be a raptor trainer so badly.
