Personality: While Panglin came across as friendly and open, these traits were a forgery... At his core Panglin was jealous, egotistical, ambitious, cunning, and would stop at nothing to get exactly what he wanted. He was smart also, always sure to use his cunning, manipulative nature before resorting to force.

History: As a young Maverick Hunter, Ed Panglin quickly garnered both rivals and a small following of 'friends'. His main rival however, was a recruit who joined at the same time he did, but was two years younger... That recruit's name was Farran Armage. What began as a friendly competitiveness eventually became a full-blown rivalry. While Armage tried to keep things civil, Panglin was aggressive in trying to prove he was best.

When the two were both shipped to the 8th Armored Battalion, the rivalry continued... Their Commander, taking note of the two's natures, named Armage his successor upon retirement. Armage however, declined, and Panglin became the new Commander. He utterly enjoyed finally being above his rival.

And yet he wasn't satisfied... In fact, he seemed furious at how Armage shrugged it off. But he knew better than to do anything, else risk a demotion.

After an incident concerning the VR Training rooms on base(he'd been warned prior of the dangers of high-reality simulations), Panglin was threatened with demotion. What really set him off was that the General(Sigma at the time) had threatened to replace him with Armage. Panglin began to plot to dispose of Armage. However, each attempt failed...

In the end, the paranoia and anger drove him mad. As a Maverick, he tried to kill Armage himself. He was defeated and destroyed by Sigma, who Promoted Armage to Commander of the 8th on the spot.
