Not really. I was just playing EarthBound again, so my posting this is purely coincidence.
You say "re-release," but Mother 1 and Mother 3 never officially left Japan. Upon looking into this relaunch, it seems we're still only getting a re-release of the second game.

Indeed. It makes me a sad panda. They disappointed me when they announced their Mother 1+2 release on the GBA, only to find out it wasn't coming to North America.
