Description Here we have the longer-than-intentionally-awaited Pack B in all its I'm-actually-only-halfway-through glory!

In all seriousness, I am having lots of fun doing these, giving each character their own 'flare' and slightly redesigning them. It demands a lot of my creativity to keep each character looking unique that I can only hope I managed to pull off. It also helps to give me more confidence in my ability to not draw SameFace, which I despise with a passion (though still found myself trapped into as I became influenced by Anime...), and just otherwise bringing life to my designs through expressions, gestures and colors. Basically, it's become an exercise I partake in every day or so.

Speaking of exercise, whew Koopert and Sniegs did not cooperate with me while I drew them. Arh T. was an absolute doll and she came out nicely. (The green suit and her black dress skirt and stockings make me imagine a design based somewhere between Art College student and world-renown art thief... I... I don't know... It just seemed to work)
Koopert on the other hand troubled me because I had never successfully mixed two things like knight's armor and a Koopa Troopa before. The big question was how do you noticeably combine the design of a Koopatrol with human armor and then properly fuse the bright greens and yellows to the dark blacks and greys without contrast-overload? In the end though, I'm not troubled by the result.
The only major issue Sniegs gave me was his skin color (the character has grey skin but lives where most humans would have insanely pale skin...ugh), and trying to keep him looking trim. Unfortunately that's hard to do when wearing a dress shirt, double-breasted coat and a trench coat and not fitting scarf over-top. Oops.

The only potential downside I see in treating it like a study exercise is that I'm being much more laxed about getting it out. I do feel I should be drawing as I please (How else do I enjoy it?) but still feel my viewers are deserving of seeing them ASAP. It's a balance of effort vs. output and I'm leaning slightly more towards effort, even if time is sacrificed in the end.

I'm not going to specify when the next Pack will arrive, because my track record of predictions is horrible and each seems to be readily ignored by my brain, but it will be soon. I'll let you decide what timeframe 'soon' actually fits into...

O..M...G so cool and interesting I always wondered what they would look like in real life. I really like the pixel art to in the background.

Why thank you very much! I thought the pixel art would be a nice addition.

Arggghhhhh fffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff the 2nd pack is absolutely fantastic! I love Arh T's little beret (world-renowned art thief you say? Maybe there's more than meets the eye on our little art enthusiast No wonder why she's always hanging around museums). Anywho the girl's screaming sass and confidence which perfectly captures her character.
The koopa shells on Koopert's armors blend in very nicely, sir! The pose is dynamic and very well put together. The orange hair is a nice touch seeing as I've always imagined Koopert as Irish for some reason.
Sniegs definitely has the right skin color I had in mind, since the grey outer layer is akin to a ski mask to keep the head warm in the cold for their species - what looks like a yellow scar is actually a rip in the mask per se so you definitely nailed this one, albeit not on purpose xD Needless to say, Sniegs is looking pretty chill & dapper in his uniform there. A really sweet take on his character.
Needless to say, I've yet to thank you again and I had to fave this /twice/ now to show you how much I love your work on these guys. Seriously, I'm in awe at these and I literally couldn't contain myself when I saw this updated (luckily I had a much more stable chair this time round, heh.)

MehcumajexifhnejziaycjtjksiUfjal, as you can see, the ultimateness of this picture has driven me crazy, so you have to go to prison as your art's level of awesomess had surpassed 8000!(jk,jk)
No seriously, this is awesome! Each humanized character retain their unique personality, though I did not imagine Booston being kinda fat. But I demand more art!

Wow!... I... I have so much power! I could be... a... a... SUPERHERO!! I'll defend the night with my mind-blowing powers of awesomeness! I could eve-- GAHKTH!... *ahem* That was my sidekick Modesty Man, he told me that I was being a giant douche for a second there.

I like to imagine all Boo characters being a bit pudgey, 'cause they're so round y'know? Then again, following that logic, Shyler should be a midget and Tutankaboom should be a beachball.
And, don't you worry! More is on the way!

Yes, Pack B is here! So because of that, I won't kill you(for now). It's most likely that Koopert's King though: "Screw it! Who needs versatile armor and better chance at war when we got flashy colored armor and extremely uncomfortable clothes on our hand." Arh.T on the other hand is, uh, more humanlike maybe?(other than the fact Toad look like human already). If I were you, I'll go heck with it And make Sniegs' skin gray because:
He's a transmutated gijinkas with skin implants, or the fact that he lives near a volcano and get ash all over his face.

Holy kerschmuzzle, I fell out of my chair when I saw this (no seriously, the thing's unstable and the sight of this put me into MAJOR excitement mode which caused it to collapse)
Oh man, this is extremely sweet! That's an understatement. I don't know how to put in words how awesome this is. You've drawn them really well and they all fit their personalities. Your way of drawing human characters really stands out and looks great You even made 8-bit sprites of them and such! I can't wait to see the rest And I remember now that I said I'd do the same for your partners, so I'll continue on those as well since I gotta thank you for this.
Also, it's great to have you back! I missed seeing your work! Although, you said that you'd do this in only February of this year if I remember. 5 months is nothing compared to the 4 years I made you wait on the reversed Star Spirits. xDD Which by yes I still am really sorry about >.<

Heheh. You don't know how I am to have caused you so much excitement, you hurt yourself.
No, but seriously, glad you really like it. I'm happy I'm able to put these out so quickly - I mean I can draw two of these guys in just under a day and a half; and that's with breaks.
I'd also like to point out a bit of attention to detail, on the characters and the background. It might not be super obvious as yet, but once they are all done, you might see it.
Yeeeaaahhhh..... I've been gone for a while. Pffft. It just serves to prove that no matter what, when I open my mouth, I do the exact opposite. >.>; BTW, seriously? February? Wow, I coulda sworn it was longer...

Hurt myself AND needed to get a new chair. Thine evil genius intentions show true now
And yeah of course I like it, I always get thrilled when I see people draw my characters, and your gijinkas are very well made I shall look out for the detail on the characters and backgrounds for the whole pack then
Yeah it's easy for life to take our time and drain it all away like a Venusaur using Giga Drain. >,< I understand what it feels like to just forget about drawing entirely due tothis hindrance we have called outside lives. :U And yes indeed, I remember you telling me in the Gijinka Goombeverly picture I made? Anyways, I gotta try my hand at your partners, expect the first of two packs by Sunday!

Mwaha hahaha! I'm like an insane Einstein...sorry, I didn't mean to be redundant; I'm like Einstein! XD

And thank you very much for your praise. Though, now I feel I built up the details a bit too much... I won't even tell you where the details are, but I will say that it is related to the image I'm using for reference; right here .
I feel that it was more like have a Snorlax using Earthquake on my body, while sitting atop me. But you're totally right. I'm trying to not have a hindering life this summer, and devoting my time to dA and my art.
>:V Only Februray... Man time doesn't fly as fast as I thought it did...

Soupgeist In reply to The-PaperNES-Guy [2014-07-09 13:13:01 +0000 UTC]

I fear thee now, with thine antics and villain castle!

And no problem. The reference image you gave me takes me straight to my messages though.
Yowch, I certainly hope it didn't have the ability Thick Fat or the damage woulda been doubled. At least it wasn't a Groudon or Steelix, hey. All this summer I'm just going to draw and take photography for my Art A-Levels in September. This is the summer of art stuff!
Well hey, time is a fragile and delicate concept... it drags, flies and sometimes it stops dead right in its tracks to somersault in the air at the speed of sound once it does. Just like a race car. It is infuriating and fun at the same time. What I'm saying is... Time is Mario Kart.

Now that you are NES-Guy fearing, you must bow down before your new ruler!

Seriously dA? After I went to all the trouble of hyperlinking... You take him to his messages...
XD Sorry about that, It was supposed to take you to your Paper Mario CT: The Partners piece. Let me try again though, Allacazam !
Wait, wait, woah, woah, woah. Race cars do somersaults at the speed of light? You must be talkin' about Waluigi Pinball! Were you expecting Mario Kart? Well too bad, WALUIGI TIME!

Soupgeist In reply to The-PaperNES-Guy [2014-07-12 03:41:49 +0000 UTC]

Sorry NES-Guy, but my ruler position has already been taken, I serve none more than the Legion of Blue Shells. They are the ones who strike the most fear.
Ah, alrighty! Now I get you! I look forward to what this all means
Le gasp! And the Waluigi Pinball music lives on in Wario Stadium!
...also on the subject of Waluigi time, a game guide had articles on all the characters and their stats; all the characters got very long, detailed bios. Waluigi? "It's always Waluigi Time!"

Holy crap, how have I never seen your work, before? You reimagined these characters INCREDIBLY well, like, damn. It really IS an honorable commemoration to Soupy's fangame, seriously, good job on these, I'm glad I came across this from the Paper Mario group I'm in. ^^

Also, might I say Shyler looks EXTREMELY attractive as a human, WHOO, that's one hot cowboy.

^///^

Oh, whoa, thank you very much! <^,^;
I'm very glad and honored that you think that.
If it pleases you, I'll be getting the rest of these out
during this week and next, as soon as they're finished.

Ehh he he... No comment... (Which is technically a comment)

Woot! That'll be great, I'll definitely make sure to keep an eye on your stuff. ^^ You know what? Screw it, I'm gonna add you to my watch, you seem like a nice guy. And I can't wait to see the rest of these. X3 Even though I'm sure there's no way you can get any better than an extremely handsome humanized shy guy, unf. XDDD

inactivity, though I should be set for this summer!

Its totally fine, a lot of great artists take quite a while to update their works, I guess its just a curse you guys carry. XD I'm just a beginner, I, like, suck. For lack of better words, hahaha. But seriously, though, its alright, even if you don't update much, it'll be nice to catch when you DO. ^^ So don't worry about it.

Thank you for the compliment, but I think you're a great artist. I saw your latest piece, the Mirror of Infinity Chapter 3, right? What I would give to be able to draw that stunning castle in the backdrop, I don't even know! While I'll honestly admit that your style is not exactly the same as Nintendo's, it's damn well close enough. Heck, I'm not even sure you need to make it look perfectly official. It's brilliantly executed in terms of design and staging (excuse the unintentional pun) and I'm 100% sure that given the natural progression of your work, one day you'll look at it and think, "Hey, I am awesome at drawing," 'cause you totally are.
