Steve will take care of Bucky - always. He hopes it will be enough.
Started this the minute after I got back home from watching the Winter Soldier, but only just managed to find time to finish it now. I realised afterwards it was a bit of a reversal of this pose from a previous Steve/Bucky fan art pic I drew. XDRelated content

"Steve will take care of Bucky-always. He hopes it will be enough." There's just something really heart-breaking about that line, like Steve feels helpless because he sees Bucky suffering but can't fix him. I think it's especially fitting for Bucky's mental issues, Steve can't fix Bucky, all he can do is be there for Bucky and let him know he's loved and not alone. I always thought it was interesting how Bucky was like Steve's older brother when they were growing up who protected and took care of Steve and now Bucky needs to be protected and cared for so Steve has taken on the role Bucky had when they were younger. It's kind of like how sometimes a child will have to take care of their parent when they are older because they have dementia or a health problem.

Steve probably always felt so bad that Bucky looked out for him back in the day. We see he keeps trying to shrug it off ("I had him on the ropes!") but he will obviously always have appreciated it actually... so I don't doubt he'd jump on any chance to take care of Bucky. He's too loyal not to want to if nothing else. And yeah, it's mentally that Bucky is most vulnerable, definitely.

I did start shipping them before the film, which I think was good, because then when it came to seeing the movie... well, the movie totally killed me right from the first minute, basically! D: D: D:

i think I shipped them in the first movie too, but like I forgot about how adorbs they were? If that makes sense like, I had been so drowned with other ships that it kinda just slipped my mind and then I saw the epicness of the winter solidier and like my heart was fucking BLEEDING the entire time and it rekindled the Bucky feelz and teh Stucky feelz and teh Tragedy that is their love D; CRIES but omg SCARLET WITCH AND QUICKSILVER!!! SO EXCITED FOR RISE OF ULTRON!
