and she was no exception she was a little thin in my taste here when I first got her but she plumped up a little pretty quickly.

As long as she's healthy, right?

She's such a big snake, can she move fast?

If she wanted to

Like if you let her outside she would go "Woohoo!" and go all over the place?

the-shiznite In reply to Lordfell [2010-05-05 20:53:13 +0000 UTC]

She was pretty laid back but I had a male a bit smaller than her who would do exactly that, and they are STRONG. There is no controlling a big snake like that, more like attempting to direct where they are going, haha.

Thanks! I was worried that you'd say that I was getting really annoying and sometimes I ask the randomess of questions. Do snakes every make any other sound than hissing?

the-shiznite In reply to Lordfell [2010-05-07 11:30:34 +0000 UTC]

Not annoying at all and they don't really make any noise, sometimes they fart though O.o

Lordfell In reply to the-shiznite [2010-05-07 15:07:22 +0000 UTC]

They fart?! I didn't know that!

haha, I know Some people don't believe me when I tell them. It has woken me up and scared the heck out of me before though, sometimes it's real loud.

They wake you up at night? Hahaha! That's funny! Dude, I didn't get a good sleep last night because of my farting snake! So what else do you do with them?

the-shiznite In reply to Lordfell [2010-05-08 16:50:08 +0000 UTC]

haha It doesn't happen often, it's only happened like 2-3 times in the past yr but it scares me every time. I basically just study and breed them, you can see all of them on my iHerp account [link] the server is down as I post this but I'm sure it'll be up soon Probably doing routine maintenance.

Lordfell In reply to the-shiznite [2010-05-08 20:38:16 +0000 UTC]

Sounds like a lot of fun! Do you get paid just breeding them and studying them?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

the-shiznite In reply to Lordfell [2010-05-09 09:53:39 +0000 UTC]

Nah, selling the babies helps but I don't make money I'm just happy to be able to pay for their food, lol. Once I start producing higher end morphs though I should have some extra money coming in.

Lordfell In reply to the-shiznite [2010-05-09 18:14:15 +0000 UTC]

But what about yourself? You said you're happy to be able to pay for their food, but what about you? But that's none of my darn business. How does one go about breeding them?

Luckily my fiance doesn't mind supporting us both and as for breeding, just do lots of research! This site explains the breeding process quite well:

Haha. It's a nice and easy pet to have. Probably the easiest to start with She's gorgeous and has a smile on her face all the time, check the photos ^^

the-shiznite In reply to Suruilo [2009-07-08 16:39:00 +0000 UTC]

I will I pretty much steer clear of bug eating creatures, dunno why really. I think cos I would want tons of them then I'd have to raise my own crickets or roaches, lol.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Suruilo In reply to the-shiznite [2009-07-08 16:44:44 +0000 UTC]

Yeah. Altough the crickets don't cost that much in the end and the gecko doesn't need a lot to eat.. Altough snakes eat even less when adult. It's funny how people who have reptiles as pets always go for the "gotta catch 'em all!" -effect That they can't stop themselves from having several different animals as pets while people with dogs and cats, etc, usually just have that one or two at the time.

haha, I know. I've had about everything under the sun, I just can't quit! Oh keep your eyes open... I just snapped another shot of the striped gargoyle. It changed it's colors already, kinda shocked me when I looked in and saw a white baby! lol

Yep I've had a couple, I just regretfully sold my 15' female yesterday She went to a good home though. You can find her in my gallery.

Dreichet In reply to the-shiznite [2009-03-02 07:46:09 +0000 UTC]

Glad to hear that she went to a good home. That's the good thing about reptiles I suppose - they don't really care who takes care of them as long as they're getting food

Do you just get them to a certain length and then move them on? I imagine it'd be quite hard to house one of those without a small greenhouse.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

the-shiznite In reply to Dreichet [2009-03-02 07:51:13 +0000 UTC]

Nah, I would've kept her but I just bought a new stack of cages and that purple albino tiger female you originally commented on and I was short on money... So I had to let her go I would've kept her if I could. The purple tiger should get 18+ ft and she is a permanent member of the family

She seems like a sweetie ^___^ I guess I'd think that even if she wasn't, I like snakes way too much. I have a dictionary definition of an "unreasoning devotion or concern", I just really really like snakes, and a friend of mine once asked me if I had a snake fetish, because that is one of the definitions of fetish, and I totally freaked him out when I said yes.

It's not that bad of a photo actually. You're very photogenic, no matter how tired you may be.

There is such a soulful symmetry seen in this scene of Serpent Sisters, physical and spiritual. The Woman and her snake take the mind on a journey as they wend, wrap, and wind. An intense intoxication of the enthralling embrace as they invoke their intimate interlace.
