Description This is a stick-on acrylic cover over an original watercolor + ink mini painting, with a steel back. I'm a little dubious on how these acrylic jobs are going to hold up over time, but I do like how this design came out. Makes a fun dog tag.

It looks so pretty!!

I was thinking of ordering these dog tags myself and was a little skeptical also. Have you tried maybe using the e-6000 to hold it in place just like the tiles? Or is it too gloppy?

Not sure how it'd work for you, but I find that Mod Podge Dimensional magic works pretty well for things like that. Makes a decently thick layer over what you put it on, and it can get a pretty good build-up size, if you apply a few coats.

Also. Jazz <33

I tried Mod Podge, and it smeared my watercolor horribly. It also left an opaque white covering, even though it's supposed to just be gloss. I have no idea why it did that, but I was pretty sad about it. Is there a trick to applying this so it doesn't smear the artwork? I had used acrylic sealer first, and that didn't even help.

Ooh, yeah. I'm not sure how the dimensional magic would compare to the normal mod podge. Dimensional magic is basically a thick sort of lacquer that gets squeezed on rather than brushed on. And it does dry perfectly clear, especially compared to the brush on finishes.

But watercolors make it difficult. Mod podge is water based. If you're using a fixative, you're probably best off with a spray fixative. Krylon is good for that. And make sure you give everything plenty of drying time. Overnight is best.

And avoid normal mod podges if you're looking for a good clear finish. Dimensional magic goes clear. Otherwise, look for better decoupage glues like Perfect paper adhesive.

I must say that compared to the Prowl one the image looks sharper. I'm curious how it will last too. I love it!

I know a WHOLE bunch of GI's (me included) that would have loved to have one of these to go along with our legit dog tags (I'm retired but still). I love this Jazz one, though Ratchet probably would have been more appropriate, since I started out as a mechanic, and then ended up doing Prowl's job in the end.

Oh, that's true. I wish I'd found these dog tag kits back when I was in the Army. I would have added them to my real ones.

Wheeljack would have been appropriate for me. I was EOD.
