Description Another sunset from our Florida round-trip. Taken at West Coast of Key Largo (Florida Keys).

Colors are as they were that day, no changes. Just a little softened with a gaussian filter.

Might be a little dark overall, but I guess you're gonna tell me...

Warming but slightly lonely, like those times when it feels like you're heart is being pushed upward in your chest. Nice. x

Beautiful use of the blur here, very tastefully applied This composition almost seems otherworldly, the hues are so lush and so rich, the blacks so strong... normally familiar sights like sailing vessels are scarecely recognizable. Excellent study in contrast, just a gorgeous photo overall. Striking

very nice, i was thinking: "that would make a nice wallpaper" but then i saw that it is a wallpaper lol. nice work

it's actually my own wallpaper. I like it when people notice themselves what an image is made for...

The sky, the composition and the colours all look amazing. I'm not too fond of the framing though, since the photo is so dark I think it would benefit from framing that separates itself more from the image.

thx for the idea. what kind of framing are you thinking of? just brighter color?

willowy In reply to the-toad [2005-01-10 16:32:06 +0000 UTC]

I still think the main border should be black, but you could do an inner border, of just 2 pixels, in a brighter colour.

hm. i played a little with the frame. but a brighter inner frame (white, yellow from the sun or orange from the sky) did not satisfy me. i compared those versions in fullscreen (as it is meant to be a wallpaper) and for me personally it said: don't use a brighter frame. guess that's a very subjective thing.

Another thing you could do is not to have a "faded" border, but let it be black all the same. Of course it's just a matter of personal taste, but I think the photo would benefit if there was a clearer distinction between border and image.

Gorgeous view...the blurring, which I would normally dislike, looks great; the contrast also looks very nice. You could try shifting the colours more towards the red end to see what that would do, but there's really nothing you need to edit here.

thank you. i tried getting more red-tones in it, but imo this was too much red.
