Description Entering service in 1998 under serial number 28855, British Airways Boeing 747-436 G-BYGA climbs away from Heathrow with one of the many daily flights to New York-JFK.

G-BYGA had it's own little drama on the night of May 11th, 2009, when during takeoff from Johannesburg O.R. Tambo Airport , the aircraft suffered numerous faults with the on board computer and warning systems in the cockpit, including an incorrect Reverse Thrust activation in the #2 engine, which resulted in the flaps automatically retracting and the aircraft's Stall Warning, also known as a 'Stick Shaker', to activate due to the incorrect flap configuration for climbing.

The crew declared an emergency and climbed to 15,000ft to dump fuel before returning to the airport unscathed.
