Chapter 6, Part 2: Betrayal

A week had passed since John, Leo and Ritz had been captured. Aurora was wandering around the undead castle, just looking at the walls that were decorated with bones and skulls as she heard what sounded like running. She got her hidden daggers ready, but what she saw was Argon and Baron running. They were panting as they went to Aurora. "What is wrong with you two? If you say the prisoners escaped I swear I will--" Aurora started in anger, but Argon shook his head swearing it wasn't. "It's Lord Irene! He's gathering his army together to attack Lord Astaroth! He's betraying our lord," Argon insisted to Aurora. She just looked in shock as she followed them outside.

Once outside, Aurora, Argon and Baron saw Lord Irene standing at the gate with an army of skeleton knights gathered, seeming ready to march and attack another kingdom. The trio immediately approached Lord Irene. "What is the meaning of this?! What is this I hear about a mutiny against Lord Astaroth!?" Aurora shouted demanding answers. "Yes, it's true. We're stronger, and we need to rule more kingdoms, so I suggest you stay out of my way. If you do I'll enlist you into my royal guardians, all three of you," Lord Irene said. With that said, he began leaving with the army of skeletons behind him.

Aurora just looked in shock, and Baron and Argon shook their heads in shame, knowing the perk royal guardian came with a lot of extra objects and items. The entire castle was empty, and all the guards had joined the army of the undead to aid Lord Irene to fight Astaroth.

While John was sitting in his dungeon cell, he saw the door get unlocked and open up. He saw aurora standing there. She threw a halberd down in front of him, undoing his chains. He got up and picked the halberd up. "What is it you want?" John asked. "Lord Irene's gone off the deep end. Just please, help my lord. That's all I can ask for," Aurora pleaded, saying what she saw Irene claim to be doing.

John followed her back above ground. He groaned and stretched after a long week in chains. He saw Ritz and Leo standing there. Leo had no armor but his fencing sword was still with him, and Ritz was being treated by Argon. "All right you guys, we have our chance to not only find Astaroth, but kill him and his general! Let us not only do this for Temes, but for the other kingdoms Astaroth has destroyed!" John shouted in motivation. Ritz saluted him and Leo grinned in excitement. "This is going to be fun," he insisted. Meanwhile, Argon and Baron looked at Aurora, questioning why she gave up her leadership practically for John to have the control.

John, Leo and Ritz soon left the castle. "What is the kingdom's name? The one Astaroth dominates?" Leo asked. "The Phoenix Kingdom… It claimed to have been burnt down by a phoenix long ago and been revived by Astaroth. It's like any other castle town," Baron insisted as they continued to march.
