Actually it's a movie still. Converted to a painting. But yes, it is awesome. Thanks!

Very nice! It looks like it was done in prismacolor pencils with the detail and cleanliness of the lines

I love his hair, and the little blush on his cheeks. He looks so vulnerable and innocent, and the way you've painted them creates a rusty, storybook feel. Well-done.

Not to be bias, but I thing you did a wonderful job capturing the emotion on his face!
Frodo had much to think about and it shows.

I really like the expression, I need to try a portrait in charcoal. I found these unopened charcoal pencils, and I want to try them out (it can't be much harder than egg tempra)

When I first saw this on the thumbnail on your latest work, I thought it was perhaps Frodo at the Grey Havens. His facial expression there, when he looks back from the boat, is priceless. But this is excellent too! I've had the privilege of meeting Mr. Wood twice and he's the nicest young man. And those eyes! Yes, so expressive in this film! They speak volumes! Very, very nice work here!

It's funny you should mention it, but I actually did consider that shot (among many others) for this portrait. This one just stood out to me though. The mixture of uncertainty and determination in his face made for a unique challenge I could not pass up. Also, I wanted to render a scene more from the middle of the story rather than the end. I'm glad you like it so much.

Sorry it's taken me so long to respond...yes, you are correct. Once more, this is where his expressive eyes does the trick. Another look which really stands out to me is in ROTK when he and Sam have been rescued and he's in the bed and everyone is coming to see him; when Sam walks in there is a look that passes between them....that look on Frodo's face...it speaks volumes! You know what I'm talking about?

Indeed I do. That's one of my favorite scenes from The Return of the King. In fact, I am strongly considering it for my portrait of Sam. There are a number of other shots I would like to use as well, but that one won't come until later.

Really nice, I am curently trying to make are through my nintendo 3DS, which isn't too diferent I think. But I really want the Colors 3D feature to make better art.

Hmmm, I've heard of Colors 3D. From what I've gathered it's a bit more sophisticated than Art Academy. But it doesn't really matter how advanced the program is, what matters is what you do with it. All that is needed to paint a masterpiece is red, blue, and yellow.
By the way, thank you very much for the favorites on this and Elfstone.

No problem. I don't have Colors 3D though. Without it I can't do any paintings with my 3ds, the colors on the graffiti program do not mix, and It's harder to get the value you want.

I love how you've captured the the expression here. His eyes have almost "sweet sadness" (as much as those two can combine) to them.

Thank you. The expression was certainly difficult to capture, and took most of the drawing process to get right. I'm glad it turned out so well and that you like it.
