Description

The old bridge out of town, Devil's Bridge they call it. Was the place the earliest settlers used to cross the mire on their crossing to the patch of land that eventually became our city. The Reaper has always haunted that place, even those first settlers lost many of their number to the deep, dark morass that seemed to lure man and beast alike to their deaths. Swallowed up whole, and few fought against its embrace. Its sinister reputation has lived on throughout the centuries, even when the city built a great bridge of stone and metal spanning the length of the slow moving river and its swampy borders did the dead continue to pile up. Cars spinning out of control atop that damned bridge, hurtling down into the deep blackness below, animals leaping to their deaths. Place became an infamous spot for suicide. The thing is, those dead didn't just up and disappear. The darkness below didn't keep all it consumed. No. The remains of its victims clawed their way to the surface, through mud and shit and foul waters. I'm talking bones. Bones of dead things litter the underside of Devil's Bridge, and no matter how often the city sends crews out to clean the place up, the dead always return. Some say the river washes old remains down from the mountains, but unless there's God knows how many graveyards up in them there hills I'm not buying it. No, it's this place... the shadows below with a hunger never to be sated. The old bones will make their way to the surface as sure as the Sun sets in the west. Steer clear of Devil's Bridge if you know what's good for you, there's more the trash and wrecks beneath that old bridge.
