Guan Xing was the second son of the legendary warrior, Guan Yu . Like his father and brothers, Guan Xing loyally served the kingdom of Shu Han. Following his father and older brother's deaths in 220AD at the hands of the traitorous Wu Kingdom, it fell to Guan Xing to continue his father's legacy.
    Xing slew Pan Zhang, the commander of the forces that had captured his father, reclaiming his father's stolen weapon. He and his best friend, Zhang Bao, later captured the defectors, Mi Fang and Fu Shiren, and executed them, avenging both their fathers.
    Following his own death years later, Xing was reunited with his older brother in serving his father, the new God of War. Xing and Ping were later joined by their younger brother, Guan Suo .
    In the 21st century, Guan Yu and Guan Ping returned to Earth to join the battle against evil, later followed by the corrupted Guan Suo as a servant of darkness. Guan Xing followed suit to assist his father and brother in cleansing his younger brother of his darkness and defeating the force that corrupted him as Red Dragon.
