Okay, I gotta stop drawing Markis as a baby and move on to the child and adult versions already.
Man this is really helping me explore how good I've gotten with shading. I'm just so happeh!
-As it turns out, Namekians are very smart, even as children. They grow twice as fast two, but also live twice as long. In the show, Guru, was 500 years old before he died of natural causes. I don't know when they start to gain their intelligence, but I'm guessing it's since hatching. Forming sentences instead of just single first words like human children.

Well, this time I did what I did with the previous, but instead went for a softer tone. I'm closer to the realistic look I want, but still not there. I think I'm going to make it just a little darker in the next one.

Orianna was in the living room, reading a good book while Markis was playing with some of his toys. The little alien was growing quite fast as she found out. She was relived that his pajamas still fit, but at this rate he'll be as tall as her knee. Not only that, he was already walking. It had only been ten months since she had pulled him out of that space pod, and he hadn't been home schooled yet. However, he already was showing signs of a higher intelligence. Markis was fascinated by electronics and started taking them apart. She had learned to only get him stuffed animals as a play thing instead of anything electronic, else it would be another toy dinosaur massacre. Markis was playing with his favorite stuffed bear when he suddenly reached for Orianna and squeaked, "Mama!" she stopped reading immediately and looked down to her adopted son, "W-what did you say?" The child hugged his teddy bear and smiled, "Mama!" she blinked a few times and the boy seemed to laugh at her reaction, showing he was already becoming self aware enough to know what shock was. In fact, he rubbed his eyes and continued, "Mama! Markis...tired. Me wanna sleep."
Orianna just shook her head. This wasn't natural. A human baby doesn't learn to speak this fast, and usually it's just one word, not six. Then again, Markis wasn't a normal human baby. Sighing in astonishment, Orianna put her book down and picked her baby boy up. He had already gotten tired and leaned against her chest, mumbling sleepily. His human mother kissed him on the head and whispered, "Yes Markis, I'm your Mama..."
