I think it's really disrespectful of people to relate this to Twilight when you've already stated it wasn't your intention. :/ People can be so rude.

As for the Twilight thing, I think people are just pointing out the resemblance to the book cover. I don't mind so long as someone doesn't unconstructively/confusingly say, "Your Twilight stuff sucks!" There are a lot of paintings, drawings, photo-manips out there of people holding their hands like this. Most of them depict a plant growing to symbolize growth of innovation. They're not uncommon on dime-a-dozen IT websites. I wanted to poke fun at that with a morbid twist.

I see what you mean, but I just personally believe that when people pull the whole "This reminds me of..." or "This looks a lot like..." that it's rude and I just get kind of ticked. 
You are correct though, that there are countless images of people's hands being held out in the same way. Crossovers are bound to happen sometime.

I use the "it reminds me of" quite often. Not meant to be disrespectful to the artist or art; but in examination of the image because it invokes a feeling of remeberance to something relevant before in my life. Once there is an identifiable emotion behind the feeling, I am less likely to forget it.

Meh, some people just don't read the artist's comments, inserting their own without any other thought. Which, now that I think about it, is even worse.
I don't get how anyone could think about Twilight...and don't give me that "hand-holding-the-apple-picture" notion. The only reference I got was from that old movie, "Honey, I Shrunk the Kids," and that was only from the title.
I have to agree with you in the end, though, this is well-done indeed.

Definitely not intentional, but unavoidable. With something as popular as Twilight, anything that bares a resemblance or vaguely similar look is likely doomed in the eyes of a passionate hater of Twilight.

Very nice! If I had anything to use it for I would so in a heartbeat. Not only a great Halloween background, but just everyday one for those who like a little bit morbid. Love the little eye in the skull, a nice touch along with the textures on the hands.
