Close up on the ends. Those caps are soldered on and are not going anywhere anytime soon.

The wire is a strand of 14 gauge copper, a strand of 1/18th" steel, and a pair or 18 gauge copper and aluminum wires twisted together to form a third strand. Then I twisted the three together as tight as I could, and capped the ends with some pex pipe plugs. The end result is really strong and hard to bend, but holds its shape wonderfully as a result.

This is just a first attempt. I'll try some more when I can get better wire to play with.
