She didn't rip them off, but they were removed, but they can regenerate

Nothing really beats torn apart wings when it comes to darkness. It is a nice way to depict irreversible loss since ability to fly symbols absolute freedom in art.
They are a really neat detail and well drawn too. As usually your art has great quality no matter what you draw. The lineart is dynamic and soft and colors and shading really impressive.
You used black and grey really well on the background too. And I like that heartshaped locket she carries in her mouth.
