Yay! Somebody who likes the books!
I honestly love it when I find people that are into the book.
Doesn't it sort of make you sick when people are like "Look! Its Elphaba!" or "Nessarose got crushed by the house" if they watch the movie? Gregory Maguire just used things from the book and the movie and built a story around that pretty much. So without L. Frank Baum's story Gregory Maguire wouldn't have the stupid fans being ripped from the movie and thrust into the Wicked book or Broadway play...
I prefer Baum's books more...

I love the books, they're beautifully written. I like Wicked as well, but I think it's important to treat them as separate entities. They are two completely different works.

I like Wicked as well but I can't stand it when people treat the 1939 MGM movie, the book(s), and Wicked like they're all meant to be connected.

Lol, indeed! A blonde with a short haircut, just like in the later books. That would have thrown everyone off!
I'm glad you like it.

I prefer to think they would have appeared -- magically!
