Here is my entry for 's Fourth Swordsman (Swordhorse) contest!

His name is Ossiferros (rolled R's optional), and he is an Andalusian stallion with some Paint in him somewhere. He's 15.5 hh and fights with a scythe, which in my opinion is the most badass weapon ever created. His ancestors came to Mesoamerica with the conquistadors, and he grew up surrounded by the influences of the Aztecs and their bloody rituals. Born on the Day of the Dead, with markings that bear an eerie resemblance to a skeleton, was there ever any question about what weapon he would eventually wield? (PS: , I don't know if there are conquistadors--or even humans!--in the story's universe, so if not, I'm flexible! )

Ossiferros infallibly acts like a perfect nobleman and gentle-horse, and his language is obnoxiously civil no matter what the circumstances. His honor and his word mean everything to him, and he would happily die (or kill) rather than break it. He takes his job very seriously and is fiercely loyal to Caligos, leader of the Four. However...

...Being raised around the vicious and gory ruins of the Aztec empire has...affected him somewhat. The scent of blood drives him mad, and once he has started killing it is...very...difficult...to stop him. He knows his place, though, and had sworn undying loyalty to his master. He is perhaps just a teeny bit vain, and distrusts mares as he believes them to be conniving and manipulative.

So, anyway, that's Ossiferros! Hope you like him, , and that he's what you're looking for!

In other news, I am extremely freakin' proud of this horse. Seriously. I'm sure all you horse artists are snickering at my appalling anatomy, but all his legs seem to work and therefore I LOVE HIM!!!! I was going to put several pale streaks in his mane, one coming out of each of the stripes on his neck--but then he just looked like Sweeney-Todd horse. So, if you liked Sweeney-Todd horse, sorry. :C I came up with the concept because the whole "Four Horsemen" contest made me think of the Apocalyptic versions, and I have a kind of fixation with the Grim Reaper (and now you can all love him, too! ), so the connection just seemed natural.

Character is mine, unless he wins the contest, in which case he belongs to for use in her story. So no takey! Enjoy! ~
