Thanks! I really liked the way the lighting worked on their hair, too. I airbrushed a bunch of pink in a sorta-semicircle shape for the lighting on every drawing in this little series before putting the pink layer on Overlay, and I think it complemented really well with Nozomi's hair color especially.

Yeah the pink really worked with the purple of Nozomi's hair here! ^^
You do a great job on the lighting on these pictures, and that's a neat but simple technique. It works well and it probably saves you a lot of time compared to trying to put lighting on every little piece of hair XD

Thank you! (I'd like to try more complicated lighting on hair to make it seem more realistic, but this simple style has its charms. plus motivation issues can hit)

Of course! (It really does! Of course, don't let that stop you from experimenting when the motivation does come to ya. It might not be good at first, but don't be discouraged! You'll get better with time and practice.
Still, you don't have to get rid of this style either. You can try both, or just stick to this one! Whatever floats your boat ^^ )
