OMG Marion Zimmer Bradley is my All time Favorite Author. I've read and reread that whole series. but Mist is the best. Have you read her take on Helen of Troy. If not you really should!!! LOVE your work

I love the way that you put this piece together. I have read Mists of Avalon so many times. This captures the feel of that book very well. I love the blues in the dress and how the sword seems to glow with a light from within. Very well done.

Ah, you pain me with the filth that was the movie! It was an abomination of the book! Do yourself a favour and read it. Its long but it is so much better than the movie. But then again, I am an Arthurian snob, heh. My father as recommended the Pendragon cycle to me in the past that I just haven't gotten around to reading yet. And the Kushiel series I actually think my brother was reading at some point I'm not sure. I'll look into them. I have a huge ass reading list already though!

Most movies are abominations compared to the books, I agree with you perfectly..perfect example as well would be Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles and the movies made there of. But in Arthurian Legends I have encountered one where the book and movie were equal.. Excaliber...the british version from the early eighties/late seventies. Of course they stayed true to Malory's "Morte d'Arthur". But as far as Mist Of Avalon, will check out the book. Thanks.

Hmm...well...I'm not sure if I agree with you. If we are discussing the same Excalibur, that happens to be one of my parent's favourite movies, then it can't possibly be true to "Le Morte D'Arthur" because Morgan was not the sister who slept with Arthur and birthed Mordred, Morgause was. Regardless, Excalibur is still an excellent movie and most certainly on the top of Arthurian legend movies.

Aw! you could probably do something like this is Photoshop. Actually I think that's what most photomanippers use, I'm the odd ball out. Practice really does make perfect! ^.^

Um...isn't it spelled Excalibur?
I really like this piece. It's nice and dark, but then right in the middle is that nice light lilac dress...Kudos!

Aw, well thank you for the constructive criticism, I appreciate it! I went so dark with it because I was really trying to go for a cave-like feel...actually I think the first version I posted was lighter but I changed it...Either way, I'll keep that in mind for my next deviation! Thanks!

You've done a wonderful job here. I love the color changes you made to the seated figure's garments. Everything is blended together so smoothly, and I love that overlaying texture. It gives it a nice, old feeling about it. Great work!

oooooo. This came out much darker than I thought it would be. I really love the expression on Morgaine, and the sort of apprehensive "So...if it comes through this door, should I stab it, or surrender...?" on Viviane. I think that maybe, if anything, Viviane's face could be a little lighter, but I love how the darkness brings out the texture in the dress, and I think I see a lightsource off to the left side there. Prettyful!
