2013. Blown glass, plastic, paper. Approximately 12”x 12”x 12”

Appropriation assignment. I was definitely inspired by Chris Taylor and Jeff Koonz in my attempt to replicate origami balloons in glass. Conceptually, I also enjoyed the ideas of inflation (of paper and glass), elevation of the simple to sculptural art, and east/west hybridization with fusing the iconic Asian papercraft form and Western glassblowing techniques.
