This is our recent loss in the family, Marley. He was a Golden Retriever & Samoyed Mix. He got named after the movie Marley & Me, because he was so naughty, boisterous, bouncy and full of life. He was only 8 years old when he died, the youngest I've ever lost and it truly broke my heart. He passed away back in December 2021 after a very short battle with an aggressive Lymphoma. It's still very raw, even after several months, and his presence is deeply missed because he was such a big character, and caused so much comotion around the house that it feels too quiet now.He always reminded me of sunflowers, and now I'll always think of him when I see them. This painting was done without a square gouache background and more loose watercolour. To match his wild and free nature.
