Arslan is a beautiful character, and I wanted to draw him the moment I saw his folder.
Since Arslan has something to do with the night sky/stars, it reminded me of the suns, moons, stars, and etc. decorated on tarot cards. So that's the general layout I went for. And then I got some info about Arslan liking things that glow, so I thought it would be nice for him to play with some sparkly sparkly sparklers .v.)9

There were many things I wanted to put in, but I thought it'd look too crowded. This finished piece is already simplified from what I originally had in mind, but I think it still looks a bit crowded in terms of composition. XD
Even so, I like how it turned out! I learned new techniques for effects while working on this, too.

I'll post an animated process in a bit.
I've done three contest entries in a row and now caught a cold. xD I think I'll rest up for a few days before going back to other contests.
In the meantime, I hope you like it as well.
