Description
Bill is a young hobbit (39) who, along with his best friend Meramec, finds a baby hidden behind a tree in the middle of the night. Neither he nor Meramec know what to do with a baby, so they take him to their best female friend, Wysteria's, house. The three hobbits keep the baby alive through the night. Bill, generally stuck-in-his ways and against the idea of parenting a child, quickly bonds with the child and takes him home. A set of ill-intentioned humans, lying about being the baby's aunt and uncle, convince the reluctant Bill to give the child over to them. When Meramec and Wysteria find out what happened, they convince Bill to go get the baby back, and the three hobbits set out on an adventure to reclaim baby Frotha.

Bill often argues with himself, both in thought and out-loud muttering, especially when faced with moral decisions. His house is a little hobbit hole in a hill by the river with a big old tree growing out of the top. The tree's roots have grown in through Bill's ceiling, and he uses them to hang things on. His front yard is fenced with a small white-picket fence, and he has flowerbeds on either side of his front door. In Bill's backyard he keeps a few chickens for eggs. Bill enjoys going for walks, picnicking, and keeping a regular schedule throughout the week.
