I forgot to mention this while posting Wisteria, but this month's set of 10 designs belong to my take on several different types of Yokai, and now we have our Oni entry.

Jesus Marquez was an anime fan since the first dubbed seasons of Kaijubowl-XY found their way on the single television his family had in Mexico. Hooked on anime since, he was enamored with an apparently authentic samurai sword (or Katana as he'd brag about knowing) at a swap meet. Unbeknownst to the twenty-four-year-old fanboy, the sword contained the restless soul of an oni - defeated by an adversary and trapped in his own sword for the rest of eternity.

The Oni made a deal with Jesus, granting him powers like those in his Anime - which the Oni, Ikazuki, found embarrassing - as long as the anime fan vowed total elegance to the Blue Demon and granted access to his mortal, but physical, body as a host. Now possessed by the sword, he serves as the body of Ikazuki in his endless search for the demon that trapped him in his current state, knowing that the blood from the greater demon's soon-to-be-fresh neck hole would free him.

Jesus just thinks being possessed is awesome and just like the Oni Mask Arc in Season 4 of Kaijubowl: Revengence-W. Thus together, they became "Azul Uno" (Bloodthirsty Blade), from those who bared witness to their hunt of Lord Nanashi.

Author's Notes
Fun fact, a lot of his color scheme comes from inverting Super Saiyan Blue Goku. Transformed into an Oni by a possesses sword, I decided that "Azul Uno" being an anime nerd possessed by an actual Anime Demon would be funny, and the two of them have a complicated "master" and "undying groupie" relationship while sharing a single body, and they can be considered the protagonists of an entirely separate story involving the other Yokai characters in this set.
